Job Title

Support Worker/ Health Care Assistant

Job Purpose

To provide high-quality care and support to

individuals in their own homes or supported living settings. The role involves

assisting clients with daily living activities, promoting independence, and

ensuring their safety, dignity, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

 Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.

Support clients with medication administration as per their care plans.

Provide companionship and emotional support.

Assist with meal preparation and feeding where required.

Support clients in maintaining their household, including light cleaning and laundry.

Promote independence by encouraging clients to participate in activities and make their own choices.

Escort clients to appointments, social events, or other activities as needed.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided.

Report any concerns or changes in a client’s condition to the appropriate supervisor.

Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and care standards.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

  • Experience in a care or support role (formal or informal).
  • ·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • ·Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • ·Empathy, compassion, and a genuine desire to help others.
  • ·Willingness to undergo a DBS check.
  • ·Ability to follow care plans and maintain accurate records.
  • ·Able to drive and own a car and a valid UK drivers’ license (For Domiciliary Care Applicants)

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in working with individuals with specific needs, such as dementia, learning disabilities, or mental health conditions.
  • First aid or manual handling training
  • ·Driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

Working Hours (Shifts) and Conditions – Please tick as appropriate

Full-time: 37.5 Hours weekly

Part-time: 20 Hours weekly

Weekend ONLY

Flexible working (Bank Staff)

No matter what shifts you chose above, the role may involve flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, to meet client needs.

Support Workers and Carers may also be required to travel to different locations as part of their duties.
