At Saint Aims Care and Support, we believe that what is worth doing is worth training for; and as a result, we invest in high quality industry leading and best practice training for our managers and staff. We are affiliated with best in class training providers and consultancies in care and support management who works effectively with our staff and management team to provide highest standards of care and support services training.



Mandatory Training

There are 15 training courses that are mandatory for all our staff. We check for certification for these training before onboarding staff and also refresh these courses on a regular basis. In addition, we have also included bonus tranining courses that are essential for our staff to fulfill their roles to our Service users. These are:

Moving & Handling

The moving and handling of people is a regular task in health and social care, which if not done safely, can cause serious injury to service users and staff. Our courses helps you learn key skills to prevent:

  • back pain and musculoskeletal disorders, which can lead to inability to work
  • moving and handling accidents – which can injure both the person being moved and the employee

discomfort and a lack of dignity for the person being moved


SafeGuarding

Working with the elderly, children and young people can be incredibly rewarding; but it also comes with a good deal of responsibility. One of the most important aspects of this responsibility is your obligation to keep those who are in your care safe from harm. Safeguarding training gives a thorough overview of the different ways in which particular individuals might be vulnerable.

  • Recognising tell-tale signs of abuse and neglect. …
  • Improve your team’s communication ability. …
  • Increase trust in your institution. …
  • Enable staff to record and report abuse and neglect appropriately



Continence Management

Attention to the dignity of older people who need assistance with toileting, incontinence or bladder or bowel care in health or social care is of utmost importance. In our continence management workshop, we train our staff on how  to support our service users to better control their bladder or bowel functions through tips on how to keep the bladder healthy, continence assessment, identifying a suitable course of treatment if necessary and emotional support and advice.


Food Hygiene

Food Hygiene relates to the way in which food and drink is handled, prepared, stored and served to prevent it from causing illness. (Food hygiene can be compromised too by poor hygiene, with regards to utensils used and handler’s personal hygiene)

This training offers Training on good personal hygiene, the safe handling of food, effective cleaning procedures, allergen control, safely storing food, following cooking temperature guidelines, and preventing cross-contamination




Medicines: Handling & Administration

According to the care quality commission, medicine care and support is any support that enables a person to manage their medicines. In practical terms, this covers:

  • prompting or reminding people to take their medicines
  • helping people remove medicines from packaging
  • administering some or all of a person’s medicines.
  • administering controlled medication

At Saint Aims Care and Support, we provide you with trainings and skills to enable you assess an individual medicine needs, seek consent, update care plans etc
